This is my new deck built in paper. I am currently doing a lot of swapping out of cards.

One day I wanted to brew a deck and I was looking at the Simic commander page on EDHREC. I was checking out the new/least built commanders and this one caught my eye.

I was originally going to make an Erestor of the Council deck, but found Círdan the Shipwright in the recommended cards and it was love at first sight.

The goal is to make a politics-focused deck with a lot of Voting effects. However, there really aren't that many voting cards in Simic, and not all of them are any good. So I took what I could and built the rest around blinks and cheating things in.

Not the most original way to build it, I know, but I think that having a blink subtheme rather than a clones subtheme makes it a little more unique to me and my playstyle.

There are fewer lands than I would normally run (I like to run 36-37), but I have 15 ramp spells to compensate for the lower land count.

So I found out that the deck I built was basically an upgraded version of the Elven Council pre-con from the Lord of the Rings set. So I decided to try and incorporate as many of the Precon cards as I could to help save on costs.
