Melek Storm (EDH / Commander)

Izzet spellslinging with Melek, Izzet Paragon as the commander. This used to be a Niv-Mizzet, Parun deck which aimed to get either Ophidian Eye or Curiosity onto him, but that combo is banned at the store I play at. So instead, I'm making it into an Izzet storm deck that aims to get as many copys of good spells onto the stack as possible, and storm off.

After playing the deck, its very difficult to track for someone who isn't used to having basically everything trigger on cast. The interaction of Thousand-Year Storm with even a slight storm count and cards like Frantic Search let you continually untap your lands and respond to it, raising the storm count and letting you go into an explosive Grapeshot or other burn spell. also the fun of cards like Stitch in Time also make extra turns very possible, and instant/sorcery recursion through Charmbreaker Devils, The Mirari Conjecture, or Elixir of Immortality mean you can just keep going. The thing that defeats the deck is its relatively frail defenses when it starts out. it needs to get good cards on the board and keep them there to storm off, which helps it from feeling unfair, as its crippled pretty easily if you know what to remove.
