General game plan:

  1. Generate infinite mana
  2. Either get Glacial Chasm out or generate an obscene amount of health
  3. Cast Hurricane or Squall Line for lethal

Infinite Combos follow the pattern: Untapper + Big Mana Generator

Untapper Combinations

  1. Umbral Mantle + 4 mana generated
  2. Sword of the Paruns + 4 mana generated
  3. Voltaic Construct + Liquimetal Coating + 3 mana generated
  4. Temur Sabertooth + Lightning Greaves OR Swiftfoot Boots OR Thousand-Year Elixir + (3+Equip+CMC of dork) mana generated
  5. Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote + (4+CMC of bounced elf) mana generated
  6. Wirewood Lodge + Argothian Elder + 2 mana generated (land only)
  7. Devoted Druid + Umbral Mantle OR Ezuri, Renegade Leader + Joraga Treespeaker at Level 5 OR Leyline of Abundance OR Nyxbloom Ancient

The following are the minimums needed to hit these mana thresholds. Obviously larger values work with smaller categories.

Dorks that may generate 3 mana for Voltaic Construct + Liquimetal Coating

  1. Elvish Aberration0 OR Llanowar Tribe
  2. Incubation Druid with Adapt
  3. Fyndhorn Elder OR Greenweaver Druid OR Joraga Treespeaker at Level 1 + Leyline of Abundance
  4. Any dork + Nyxbloom Ancient
  5. Elvish Archdruid OR Priest of Titania OR Viridian Channeler + 2 other elves
  6. Marwyn, the Nurturer OR Viridian Joiner + total power 3
  7. Karametra's Acolyte + total devotion 3

Dorks that may generate 4 mana for Umbral Mantle or Sword of the Paruns

  1. Elvish Aberration OR Llanowar Tribe + Leyline of Abundance
  2. Incubation Druid with Adapt + Leyline of Abundance
  3. Elvish Archdruid OR Priest of Titania OR Viridian Channeler + 3 other elves
  4. Marwyn, the Nurturer OR Viridian Joiner + total power 4
  5. Karametra's Acolyte + total devotion 4

Dorks that may generate 5 mana for Temur Sabertooth + Wirewood Symbiote combo with a 1-drop

  1. Elvish Archdruid OR Priest of Titania OR Viridian Channeler + 4 other elves
  2. Marwyn, the Nurturer OR Viridian Joiner + total power 5
  3. Any 2+ mana dork with Nyxbloom Ancient

Dorks that work with Temur Sabertooth + Boots combos

  1. Priest of Titania + 4 (Thousand-Year Elixir or Lightning Greaves) or 5 (Swiftfoot Boots) other elves
  2. Elvish Archdruid + 5 (Thousand-Year Elixir or Lightning Greaves) or 6 (Swiftfoot Boots) other elves
  3. Viridian Channeler + 6 (Thousand-Year Elixir or Lightning Greaves) or 7 (Swiftfoot Boots) other elves
  4. Any 2+ mana dork with Nyxbloom Ancient (Greenweaver Druid and Fyndhorn Elder don't work with Swiftfoot Boots)

Lands that work for Argothian Elder + Wirewood Lodge combo

  1. Nykthos + 3 additional Devotion to Green
  2. Lotus Field
  3. Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun + 1 additional creature
  4. Forest + Nyxbloom Ancient

Ways to not die to Hurricane or Squall Line

  1. Glacial Chasm
  2. Essence Warden + Temur Sabertooth combos
  3. Weather the Storm + Storm Count from Temur Sabertooth combos
  4. Wellwisher + Excess infinite mana from untapper
  5. Staff of Domination after generating infinite mana
  6. Die anyways, it'll be glorious.

Ways to dig for the win condition
Green has no way to tutor for instants or sorceries. So, we have to rely on raw draw. The draw package is designed to be repeatable once infinite mana is assembled, mostly through Temur Sabertooth shenanigans. Beast Whisperer, Soul of the Harvest, Primordial Sage, and Zendikar Resurgent all draw the entire deck with a Temur Sabertooth combo out. Regal Force and Voice of Many both can draw chunks of the deck in a similar vein. Return of the Wildspeaker draws the entire deck following an Umbral Mantle combo or sufficient bounces with Marwyn, the Nurturer out. Staff of Domination does Staff of Domination stuff.

Notable Non-Budget Exclusions

  1. Imperious Perfect: I hate this card in EDH. My meta averages a 10 turn game, this card is a slow roll. If you play it late, it's not exactly helping my gameplan. If you're playing Ezuri Elfball and are trying to overrun instead of burn, then this still doesn't exactly help with the primary gameplan. Run this card if you're against a ton of STAX decks, maybe, but I've personally been disappointed every time I've played it.
  2. Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen: She gives health and is an elf, but the attacking requirement isn't that great. We'd rather spend our turns tapping our elves with Heritage Druid to get mana to keep digging and setting up than attacking. Eventually we can assemble infinite health anyways just by digging.
  3. Joraga Warcaller: Often a 3 mana 2/2 lord, Joraga Warcaller can get ridiculous if we're already in a winning position. A 3 mana 2/2 lord is worse than Imperious Perfect, and a card that's only really that useful when we're already winning isn't that good. Our power-based big dorks already go infinite with Umbral Mantle and no additional help. Lords really don't matter all that much!
  4. Immaculate Magistrate: A 4 mana do-nothing that only helps if we already have a bunch of elves on board. In that situation, you're getting board wiped, or you're already winning. Do not recommend.
  5. Timberwatch Elf: Generally similar to Immaculate Magistrate. Cheaper, and therefore more playable, but less permanent. Again, note that this deck doesn't aim to generate a bazillion elves, but rather just a bazillion mana, which often only requires about 3-6 elves total out, depending on which you have.
  6. Labyrinth of Skophos: Works well as a replacement for Wirewood Lodge, but requires a land that taps for 5 (Nykthos would have to tap for 7 to pay for the ability). While the opportunity cost is low, it's an unlikely scenario.
  7. Yeva, Nature's Herald. She doesn't allow you to flash in any of the non-green-creature combo pieces, so she's a bit awkward. She also only combos out with specifically Squall Line. In general, she'd be okay in the command zone, but more often than not she's kind of clunky.

Obvious budgetless considerations for deck in no specific order

  1. Gaea's Cradle
  2. Borrowing the East Wind
  3. Selvala, Heart of the Wilds
  4. Craterhoof Behemoth
  5. Eladamri, Lord of Leaves
  6. Worldly Tutor
  7. Summoner's Pact
  8. Force of Vigor
  9. Green Sun's Zenith with Dryad Arbor
  10. Akroma's Memorial
  11. Concordant Crossroads
  12. Fauna Shaman
  13. Quirion Ranger
  14. Maze of Ith
