Modern Horse Tribal (Modern)

Built around Crested Sunmare, this deck focuses on gaining life and running down your opponent with indestructible horses. This deck has 3 different strategies, life gain, board-wipes, and of course tribal horses.

Life Gain: Building around Crested Sunmare, we want to be gaining life on every turn. With Diamond Mare and Shield Mare we get indestructible horses that will get us that life very fast. Cards like soulmender also allow us to get life on our opponents turn. Since we do not care about how much life we gain, it is more important to try and get life on every turn. For this, we can use cards like Moment of Triumph. Radiant Fountain and Shield Mare help us with this aswell.

Board-Wipes: We want to be running many boardwipes with this deck, day of judgement is great for this as we can use it as a turn 4 play to clear the board for our Crested Sunmare, but lategame it turns into a 1 directional boardwipe due to our horses having indestructible.

Horse Tribal: The greatest strength and wincon of this deck is Crested Sunmare, granting all our horses indestructible, along with creating more horses when we gain life. However, Radiant Destiny and Coordinated Barrage all take advantage of the 20 horses we run in this deck, granting them vigilance and cheap single target removal.

Strengths: This deck is very viable against red rush, being able to sideboard in Kor Firewalker and mainboarding Shield Mare means we can heal and protect ourselves from both red burn and red creature rush. Along with radiant fountain and Diamond Mare, many red decks will have trouble keeping up with our life gain.

Weaknesses: Control decks are this decks biggest weakness, as once they destroy Crested Sunmare or counter it, this deck turns into a weak midrange deck. With path of exile and other exile effects being common place, protecting it is very hard. Grand Abolisher is a great sideboard against this, but with the exception of blue, most control decks can play around it.

Conclusion: Horse Tribal will likely never be a top tier deck, however, I had very fun making this unique tribal deck. I feel the synergy is still quite decent and if more support is made I think this deck can almost be viable.
