EDH: Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder (Mono Black) (EDH / Commander)

[DISCLAIMER] I just added three cards from my collection, don't consider these for the text below and substitute as followed: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx = Swamp; Bolas's Citadel = Gift Of Doom; Oversold Cemetery = Soul Exchange [!]

Budget is calculated with prices off of cardmarket (thus, it can vary outside the EU but will be in a range around 25€-50€). This deck can be adapted very easily (to safe money or upgrade it). If you have fitting and similar cards in your collection, try them!

The deck is built with the intention to be a budget deck that aims for grindy but fun (for you at least) gameplay. It might not win you many games, but it can pull off some nice tricks (see below) or create big value if left unchecked.

The plan is very simple:

1. ramp
2. play and protect commander
3. play creatures to gain tokens (or use token generator)
4. sacrifice tokens with one of the many outlets
5. gain value off the sacrifice/death triggers
6. win through gain/drain-effects or Mind Crank / Tainted Strike (Backup)

Tricks and things to mention:

1. Torgaar and Butcher of Malakir are CMC >7, which means Endrek Sahr will be sacrificed on cast (because you create 7+ Thrull tokens). Keep that in mind! (Torgaar's CMC can be lowered to <6, if you sacrifice a creature as additional casting cost)

2. Shriekmaw can be cast with Evoke (1+B), but will create 5 Thrull tokens, due to its CMC still being 5

3. Feaster of Fools and God-Eternal Bontu have extra spicy synergy with Endrek Sahr (Feaster will Devour 2 at ETB, so you can use the 6 Thrull you created while casting it, making it a 15/15 flyer + Bontu's "sacrifice permanents to draw" trigger will resolve at ETB, so you can also use the 5 Thrull created on cast to sacrifice)

4. Whisper, Blood Liturgist will return your creature to the battlefield, which dodges Endrek's ability. Thus aim for outlets or low CMC cards with it, not your big Pay-Offs.

5. Noosegraf Mob + Sadistic Glee synergize really well because your goal to sacrifice creatures restocks Noosegraf Mob's +1/+1 counters and whenever anybody cast something you get a new creature

6. The hidden gems of this deck are

   • Sadistic Hypnotist: cast it for 5, create 5 Thrull tokens on cast, then sacrifice all of them to rip 10 (!) cards out of your opponents hands.
   • Weaponcraft Enthusiast: getting 6 Bodies for 3 Mana (3 Thrulls on cast, itself and 2 Servo tokens with Fabricate) is just very spicy rate.

7. In addition to the Mind Crank back up plan (mill everybody out) you get Damnable Pact, which both can draw you cards of mill somebody last cards in their libary.

Reasonable Budget Upgrades (excluding obvious ones like Damnation or Urborg/Cabal Coffers):

Mind Slash -> ~0,50€ (I don't run it because of fun and social reasons)
Skullclamp -> ~2-3€ (due to reprint)
Exsanguinate -> ~3€ (increasing chances to win on the spot)
Dead Of Winter + Snow Covered Swamps -> ~5€ (not a 100% upgrade, but if you have the cards go for it)
