Gavi, Nest Warden Control (EDH / Commander)

A different take on Gavi. The plan is less focused on drawing a bunch each turn with cycling cards, and more on the huge pay off of some cycling cards. Playing cards for free is such a powerful thing, and Gavi does this perfectly.

The game plan for this deck is to set up taxes, prisons and other disruptions to make your opponent's turns slow down. Change the curve at which they are playing the game, and allow you to control what they play, and when they play it.

Setting up token generators helps build your board turn after turn all the while sitting behind your defenses. The hope is to have a variety of tokens to help protect against the plethora of creatures in your meta. Fliers, big beaters, whatever it may be you should be able to chump block them all!

A dream scenerio would be to have a handful of tokens and token generators, and before your turn begins you pull off a Cyclonic Rift + Decree of Annihilation duo to completely destroy everyone's board. Everyone is back to turn one and you are ready to begin swinging in for heavy damage.

This is my first sort of heavy control deck. Scratches the itch of a counterspell heavy deck while still having some heavy hitting critters. Plus the ever lovable bolt!
