The first EDH deck I threw together back in 2010 was Silvos, Rogue Elemental. I just mixed up the best 65 Green cards I had at the time, many of which were elves, and added 35 Forests. It was not a great deck and ended up being replaced by my Darien deck as my main EDH deck. (which I actually bought cards specifically to build the EDH deck with). I had Ezuri, Renegade Leader but I did not have enough elves at the time to make a dedicated "Elf" EDH deck and I did not want to get extra copies of Elves I was running in my 60 card Elf Deck.
Fast forward to 2014 when the mono-colored Commander decks were released and I was excited to get Guided by Nature with Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury as the commander. I've played it here and there over the years but always felt like Freyalise is not a very Elf tribal commander and that her artifact and enchantment removal ability make me a big target. I use Ezuri as the commander instead sometimes but I get kind of bored of the only strategy being combat which is what my Darien deck already does. Shaman of the Pack is a cool creature I run in my modern Elf deck but I could not put one in my EDH deck because Rhys the Exiled was the only B/G Elf commander and I didn't think it was exciting enough and there were not that many black cards I would want to include.
That all changed recently thanks to Commander Legends and the Kaldheim Elven Empire precon deck which have brought a ton of new black elf tribal cards and most importantly a cool new commander who gives you an alternative strategy to win with. To quote the band Foreigner, "I've Been Waiting, For A Girl Like You".
