Overview

Tetsuo, Imperial Champion is a brand new Grixis commander that hints at two specific styles of play and blends them together: Voltron and Spellslinger. The overall objective of the deck is to cast Tetsuo and a plethora of Equipment, and swing at our opponents to do one of two things: kill important targets like Planeswalkers and Creatures, or cast spells for free. The primary way we win the game is through commander damage, but if the game goes long, we have an alternate win condition through infecting our opponents (Grafted Exoskeleton + Embercleave), searching an opponent's library for their biggest threat and killing them with it (Inevitable Betrayal), and an infinite combo with Aetherflux Reservoir (Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top).

Notes about this Deck

• Tetsuo's triggered ability's 2nd option allow us to cheat in Suspend cards for free, so Profane Tutor, Wheel of Fate, and Inevitable Betrayal suddenly become much more usable.
• Hammer of Nazahn is the highest priority Equipment we want to put into play, because it's triggered abilities will let us cheat equip costs and giving Tetsuo indestructible is paramount to success with this deck.
• Basilisk Collar is the cheapest Equipment we can attach to Tetsuo. However, because of how deathtouch works, we can kill any creature we ping for 1 damage.
