This is my... third? Crimson Vow commander build. I didn't intend to do so many, but the possibility of enchanting Halana and Alena, Partners with a Colossification was just too good to miss out on.

I have built the entire deck around this interaction with the partners and big buff enchantments, which transfer the biffs to other creatures in the form of +1/+1 counters.

STRATEGY:

  1. Ramp and hold the fort. Getting a mana dork down is the best thing you can do here.

  2. Play Halana and Alena, Partners. At combat, chuck 2 counters on one of your dorks.

  3. Suit up Halana and Alena with some big enchantment / equipment, like Blackblade Reforged or Prodigious Growth. Not only will this allow you to attack with one big creature; it will also transfer the buffs to any other creatures that you play.

  4. Take advantage of the counters. Many creatures, such as Herd Baloth and Gyre Sage, love having counters placed on them. Others, like Quartzwood Crasher, just want to be big. Go Gruul-style and smash your enemies!
