To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Legions of Lim-Dûl Horde Rules
Each player contributes 20 life to the starting total. Remove 20 random cards from the horde deck for each player fewer than four on the team.
When damage is dealt to the horde, mill a number of cards from the horde deck equal to the amount of damage dealt.
Players achieve victory when the horde deck has no cards remaining in its library, no cards in hand, and no creatures on the battlefield.
Players are defeated when their life total is reduced to 0.
Special Card Rules
Lim-Dûl the Necromancer begins the game in the horde’s command zone, and can use each of his abilities from the command zone.
Lim-Dûl will use each of his abilities on the first eligible target each turn. If applicable, he will target Lim-Dûl’s Cohort and Legions of Lim-Dûl (in that order of priority) over any other targets.
For each of his abilities, Lim-Dûl may use them a number of times equal to the number of permanents in play with his name in the card name, including himself (i.e., his abilities may each be used once from the beginning of the game).
Lim-Dûl’s Hex deals damage to each player individually, for a maximum of 4 possible damage to the shared life total if no costs are paid.
Oath of Lim-Dûl is treated as an Enchant World, with all of its effects and abilities applying to players instead.
The discard effects of Haunted Cadaver and Liliana’s Reaver apply to each player.
Playing the Horde’s Turn
At the beginning of the game, the horde draws 7 cards and plays them all. Then, the horde skips its next 3 turns before beginning its play.
At the beginning of the horde's upkeep, reveal cards from the top its library until a non-token card is revealed.
Then, all of the tokens are put into play and the card is cast.
In its first main phase, the horde will play any cards in its hand and any cards in its graveyard that can be played from that zone. The horde will not cast spells at any other point in its turn.
When choosing between multiple targets, the horde uses the following priorities:
-- For discard, target the player with the greatest number of cards in hand, and the card with the highest converted mana cost
-- For creature destruction, target the creature with the highest converted mana cost
-- For creature sacrifice, sacrifice the creature with the lowest converted mana cost
-- For graveyard recursion, target Lim-Dûl’s Cohort, Legions of Lim-Dûl, or the creature with the highest converted mana cost
The horde deck may activate any ability it controls without paying any associated mana costs.
If required to pay additional costs controlled by a player (e.g. Mana Leak), it may pay any costs less than or equal to the number of zombies controlled by the horde.
All zombies the horde controls must attack each turn if able. Any planeswalkers must be attacked with the minimum number of zombies possessing total power enough to deal lethal damage. All others must attack the players.
Zombies will always attack and will never block.
Skeletons will never attack, will always block the creature with the highest available power, and will regenerate if possible.
Rule Variations
Increase difficulty by making the following rule changes or card swaps:
-- Reduce the number of turns before the horde begins attacking
-- Instead of milling until hitting a non-token card, mill cards equal to the turn number
-- Creatures with no rules text are treated as tokens when milling
-- Replace Raise Dead with March of the Returned
-- Replace March of the Returned with Disturbed Burial (each will be cast once per turn)
-- Replace Ghoulraiser with Gravedigger
-- Replace Carrion Crow with Leshrac’s Rite (treat Rite as a global enchantment that gives all of the horde’s creatures swampwalk)
-- Replace 1-4 Zombie Tokens with Moan of the Unhallowed
Reduce difficulty by making the following rule changes or card swaps:
-- Replace 1 or more Lim-Dûl’s Cohort or Legions of Lim-Dûl with Warpath Ghoul
-- Replace all skeletons with Drudge Skeletons
-- Skeletons attack instead of blocking
-- Creature abilities cannot be activated (removes regeneration)
-- Replace Appetite for Brains with Vile Rebirth
