Meet Ur Dragon. The thing that totally wasn't a dragon before but sort of materialized into one? Like, into a planet-sized dragon, it seems. Go figure. HE'S COOL AS HECK THOUGH.

C17 was my favourite set because tribal stuff, but Ur Dragon is just amazing. His eminence ability is so simple yet so neat: he smoothes the mana curve of your deck, simple as that. And if you even manage to bring him down to play, hoooooly shit.

This is a jund Dragons deck at its core. There are three dragons that are outside the jund spectrum (Dromoka's got her days counted though) but they're easy enough to cast since we got a whole bunch of five color lands.

Deck is straightforward as it gets: Summon big lizards, beat people up with big lizards. Scream viciously while doing so.

Techs:

  • Wipes like Languish, Gaze of Granite and Finality usually leaves you standing tall aftewards.
  • Lurking Predators / Oath / Wild Pair and a whole slew of recovery options means you can keep the dragon juice flowing (eww) in the long haul.
  • No need to get greedy at all. Always keep a backup dragon in hand.
  • Enjoy the simple things in life, pet your dog, kiss your loved one, slam big dragons into play and feel the childhood joy of playing unsleeved mtg with your friends in the sidewalk.
  • Imagine the metagame where Ur Dragon mounts Hellkite Courser to get into the battlefield.

This isn't a deck meant to be anything close to competitive. This is my little pride and joy, there's no shenanigans such as tef's protection or heroic intervention. Just go play and enjoy the fucking game for once.
