Land destruction control with token theme. Misery and Company!

In this deck you want to save your counterspells for making sure that Gavi, Nest Warden, Elspeth, Sun's Champion and your land destruction cards resolve. Once everyone else has their board state nullified you can quickly take over the same with a ever growing token presence.

Obliterate is exceptionally good with Astral Slide / Astral Drift.
Remove Gavi, Nest Warden or The Locust God until end of turn then play a uncounterable reset that leaves your win cons (enchantments and planeswalkers and a flickered creature that makes the rest of the decks engines work) in play to take over the game.

One of the key benefits to the lands in this deck is the number of them (especially with Tectonic Reformation) that are basically spells in that they activate your token generators or enchantments that can disrupt your opponents plays. There's also a few indestructible ones for value.

Cards like Heliod's Intervention, Shredded Sails and Dismantling Wave are very important to the deck strategy because it's harder for this style of deck to win on the spot, unlike some cEDH decks.
Heliod's can destroy multiple targets at instant speed if needed, and has the benefit of gaining life in a pinch.
Shredded Sails can blow up a key artifact like Grim Monolith, or kill a surprising number of commanders themselves such as Zur the Enchanter, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and Kess, Dissident Mage.
Dismantling Wave is fine early game to hit an annoying piece from each opponent, but it really shines when you cycle it for free off Gavi, Nest Warden during an opponent's end step, or in response to someone trying to combo off. It does slow your own win cons down, but keeps you in the game and can set other players so far behind that they can't catch up fast enough! It's also worth noting how frustrated some players can become, due to how much harder it is to interact with and counter cycling vs casting spells.

Mystical Tutor is better than normal due to the cycle sub-theme. Being able to find the best board wipe or land destruction card on the fly and drawing it instantly is terrific value. It works best with Gavi, Nest Warden in play (as long as you can pay for a cycle or have Fluctuator) It's possible to turn the game from losing on the spot to winning on board by grabbing Decree of Annihilation or Dismantling Wave then getting the cycle effect them for free at instant speed.

Trinket mage is in the deck to grab the artifact lands if they're relevant, but mostly it's to help find things like Mana Crypt or Mox Diamond to keep you stable while the other players are reeling from a land wipe.

Stranglehold is surprisingly strong, allowing you to dictate more of the game flow. Many decks rely on tutoring a win con and some decks like to take extra turns for advantage. This one enchantment on turn 2-3 can ruin fetchlands, green ramp and more!

Teferi, Time Raveler Might be the most absurd magic card ever printed. Opponents can't counter or play Stifle effects, you can set up instant speed boardwipes, land destruction or card draw. Only thing he can't do is attack! It also stops cascade, miracle and suspend effects in case your opponents run them.
Teferi, Master of Time is just a value engine. It works with the enchantments and creatures that make tokens, it can remove a combat threat, it can take extra turns.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Chandra, Awakened Inferno are not fast win conditions but they're excellent in a control shell as they both have removal and multiplayer damage.
Elspeth, Sun's Champion will undoubtedly win you a game in a much shorter amount of time, and can still boardwipe powerful creatures if needed. A key card to close a game quickly after you destroy all lands.
