To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
A reactive control deck that aims to lay low then surprise people with fun instants like Deflecting Palm.
Like many such decks this is fairly heavily built around Sunforger, and part of the fun is being able to use it with multicoloured blue and/or black spells. Displacer Kitten is also very effective for its ability to protect your things as well as giving huge value from ETB creatures (though there are only a few in the deck). A more Sunforger-focused build would probably include some more tutors for it, but with only one equipment (and Darksteel Mutation for Open the Armory) it seems best to rely on generic black tutors.
A more competitive deck might include some kind of combo (perhaps using Kitten, which rightly ought to be killed on sight) or, for a somewhat less lame option, consider ETB recursion creatures such as Archaeomancer/Ardent Elementalist - with Kitten out you can create a bit of a lock where you Cyclonic Rift every other round or similar.
The deck is deliberately very instant-heavy with most things being Sunforger-searchable, and purposefully eschews the fastest mana and other obviously powerful plays, aiming to look less threatening. However there is a small number of disruption cards such as Blind Obedience to make it easier to control the board, and there's a slight lean in favour of political and dealmaking cards like Steam Augury and Council's Judgement. A very few cards, like Black Market Connections, Rhystic Study and of course mana rocks, are generic value pieces and could potentially be switched out.
