Selvala evolved from a Sakiko, Mother of Summer deck. Before, it relied on connecting with opponents for the big mana which, while it produced vast amounts, it was always during my 2nd main phase which I would use to drop big creeps that would then have to wait a turn cycle to be used. When Selvala came out I was lucky enough to pull her in a pack and I just hard swapped her in as the new commander.

Right off the bat it worked quite well with no changes, even better than Sakiko as I could now use her tap ability to get creatures in BEFORE combat therefore speeding the deck up as well as making it more reliable. Over time I tweaked it to better fit her and now I rarely play a game where I don't get to do my thing.

I do run some cards, sword of the paruns and umbral mantle, which allows her make infinite mana, but I still hold true to combat damage being my main wincon. I really don't want to win with cards like Walking Ballista or hurricane as it doesn't feel like a real Green win to me. I feel I must roll over face with my big beefy creeps to really satisfy the gods of Green before I can call it a day with this deck.

Giant adephage is one of the best big mana green creatures I've ever experienced in a game of magic. The seven power with trample is almost always enough to connect with it triggering its copy ability. This puts on so much pressure onto the opponents that I've drawn out multiple removal spells on just the tokens so they would live another turn.

My favorite card in the deck is Elderscale Wurm, so many times I have tutored it into play at just the right time to save my life. Plus I love how there are seven 7s on the card, chef's kiss...
