The deck wants to assemble the Imperial tron with Crown of Empires, Scepter of Empires and Throne of Empires.
The main win-condition probably is Throne of Empires with it's capability of pumping out 5 power on the board each turn at least once. But the other pieces are also pretty powerful with Scepter of Empires bolting the enemy each turn and the Crown of Empires stealing creatures permanently.
For the tron, we play four copies of each Throne of Empires, Scepter of Empires and Crown of Empires. At first I only played three copies of each, but as I want to draw these cards as consistently as possible, I changed that.
We play Fabricate, tutoring us the artifacts up we need, providing much needed conistency.
As our artifacts are quite expensive, and we don’t want to wait until T3 so we can cast something. So we are playing quite some ramp with a playset of each Etherium Sculptor and Renowned Weaponsmith. These ramp pieces also act as bodies to block with, as this deck tends to run low on blockers.
As mentioned, we sometimes happen to have less blockers than needed, so we play a playset of Steel Wall. It’s a nice 0-drop, if we have Etherium Sculptor on board. For additional disruption, we play Ravenform, removing artifacts and creatures. Also, we have Spell Pierce, a nice counterspell, protecting our pieces and disrupting the opponent.
As for the lands, we play 18 basic Island, together with Darksteel Citadel and Inventor’s Fair. Darksteel Citadel is something to discard to Thirst for Knowledge, which is why we run it. Inventor’s Fair is acting as an additional tutor. We play 24 lands, which might seem like a bit much, as we already run 8 pieces of mana-acceleration, but we are looking to also sacrifice Inventor’s Fair to tutor something up, rather than to depend on it’s mana.
The deck is by far not competetive and quite slow for 1v1 games. It's definetily able to win those games, but it has a harder time dealing with whatever the opponent is doing while it tries to assemble the combo. In kitchen-table multiplayer play it's an absolute destroyer, because it just has more time to get going before it gets pressured.
Against tron we play Damping Sphere. We can easily swap it out for the most of our Pongify, which we don’t need against that archetype, as it can’t do much about most of their threats. We don’t need four copies of it to get it consistently, as we run another four tutors to get it, in case we desperately need it.
When sideboarding against dredge, we can swap out Lithoform Engine and Fabricate for a playset of Grafdigger's Cage. Lithoform Engine is just too slow and as for Fabricate: I think we are able to afford sacrificing even more consistency in favor of completely shutting off the opponent's deck.
If we happen to play against burn, we sideboard Spellskite in and take Pongify out. Pongify will just give them larger bodies, if we actually use it. In addition to that we have a little bit of life-gain with Inventor’s Fair but I would argue that this doesn’t affect our matchup against burn a lot.
For the silver-bullet against heliod company, we play four copies of Torpor Orb, as it shuts their Auriok Champion down.
The deck is pretty much a budget build, only costing 40€ on cardmarket.
