To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Copycat (copy/double up on spells cast; there's a lot of Instants/Sorceries, get the most bang for my buck)
Don't die to Yusri (negate his damage with lifelink or one of the shields; tutor for these things if need be)
Win Conditions:
Combat (commander damage, specifically; or if I get a token generator to stick long enough, I guess you could go wide)
Chance Encounter (can't tutor for this in these colors, sadly, so just draw a ton of cards and hope you get there eventually)
Notes after play-testing it:
This deck was surprisingly consistent, for being built around a chaotic commander.
Psychosis Crawler makes a strong case for Golden Pig of the deck. You can (and I almost did) kill people with it. Tavern Scoundrel is quite the engine too.
The mana base does need some tweaks.
The extra combats theme is almost unnecessary, with the amount of cards you draw you could very well win games the normal way. That said, I am going to keep those cards, because it will close out the game significantly faster. You will be spending time each turn resolving your coin flips and it can be tedious - especially if you have Okaun/Zndrsplt, the thumb, and Yusri out all at once. Just win faster, lol.
Other ideas I had for Yusri:
Voltron! I have a Kykar, Wind's Fury deck that is spellslinger-voltron similar to how you'd build Shu Yun. I love it a lot, I figured Yusri would be a good candidate for that style of deck too since he's gotta attack a bunch anyway to do his thing. If it turns out I mashed together one too many themes this is my Plan B
Chaos! I skipped a lot of coin-flipping and chaotic stuff, because my playgroup dislikes chaos and I don't want to take forever on one single turn if I can avoid it. But a lot of other folks have gone this route building Yusri.
Efreet-tribal! Definitely a very niche scenario seeing as there aren't many efreets and a lot of them are really bad, but I love Yusri's art, I love efreets as a concept, if I ever get bored and wanna build an extremely jank deck for funsies this is an option
Card draw! I think if you leaned really hard into the card draw side of things the deck would probably work quite well. Similar to how you'd build a Niv-Mizzet deck, except the damage dealing isn't stapled on the commander, so you'd need to get creative.
