Bristling Boar Tribal (EDH) (EDH / Commander)

This naya deck is all about the amazing creature known as Bristling Boar and its kin, the website may claim Marisi, Breaker of the Coil is the commander but that is surely an error. I've tried to keep it as budgety as possible which means the manabase is a bit slow and we've excluded boars Huang Zhong, Shu General and Yuan Shao, the Indecisive.

The Boar and cards like it (Stalking Tiger, Ironhoof Ox etc) have a mechanic without a keyword (WotC be slippin) that means it can't be blocked by more than 1 creature. Naturally if we combine this with Menace (creature must be blocked by at least 2 creatures) our Boar is unblockable! How overpowered!
We get menace from cards such as Goblin War Drums, Gruul War Chant, Iroas, God of Victory, Pyreheart Wolf etc.

So with our unblockable buddies, what do we do? Well the sidekick Marisi lets us Goad our opponents into attacking each other, cards like Toski, Bearer of Secrets draws us a card for each opponent damaged, Grenzo, Havoc Raiser steals us cards to play or fulfils Marisi's role.

Get in there! With cards like Fires of Yavimaya, Rhythm of the Wild and Lightning Greaves we aim to get our Boars in the action as quickly as possible.

With Goad we're likely to be relatively safe but hasted creatures can still attack us, which is why Thalia, Heretic Cathar and Urabrask the Hidden is in the deck. Goad also doesn't do much against decks that use very few creatures but good old fashioned combat damage does!

Early game the deck is fairly durdly, we hope to ramp a bit, get some creatures on the board and then start goading with Marisi.

Later we should aim to protect our board against wipes with cards like Dauntless Escort, Glorious Protector and Boros Charm should probably be in the deck. It's important because the deck isn't great at rebuilding since the Boars are mostly 4cmc+ and Marisi ain't cheap either.

Notable cards are Seal of Cleansing (a decent rattlesnake so don't play & pop it unless you have to), Blade of Selves sets up goading perfectly and Mimic Vat is a pet favourite of mine, especially if we imprint Mangara of Corondor! Court of Grace is worthwhile as keeping monarch isn't too difficult if everyone's goaded.
