Pauper EDH is an alternative format that uses any uncommon creature as the commander and the 99 are commons.
This Golgari deck is helmed by Anara, Wolvid Familiar and Falthis, Shadowcat Familiar. The partners suit eachother well as an indestructible deathtouch menace creature is not something you'd want to block.
Therefore the deck runs a voltron strategy, mixing artifacts and enchantments to get a benefit out of both Ancestral Mask and Cranial Plating, two powerful cards.
Anara is the primary voltron commander but Falthis is an ok backup, the aforementioned artifact and enchantment are two of the biggest boosts in power but there's also Endless Scream, Predatory Hunger, Eternal Thirst and Soul's Might which can provide a lot of power. Toughness matters less since the commanders are indestructible while attacking.
Indestructible and Deathtouch makes it tempting to run a lot of fight / bite spells but since we're in black already there's just simply better and more reliable removal. The deck is tough to block and has a decent amount of lifegain so creatures aren't really a worry anyway.
That said, Pestilence makes for a gruesome piece with an indestructible creature on the board.
Anara only provides indestructible on our turn so we're vulnerable on other turns. For that the main protection is Blessing of Leeches, Broken Fall and Soul Channeling, theres also Whispersilk Cloak for a suited up commander or for Falthis to equip, Falthis also benefits from Kaya's Ghostform.
What indestructible doesn't protect against is bounces & exiling effects, for that we have Ranger's Guile, Snakeskin Veil, Vines of Vastwood and Whispersilk Cloak. It also doesn't protect against Edicts however sacrificing Falthis isn't that big of a deal, we also can make chump blockers with Night Soil.
The rest of the deck is mostly some ~2cmc ramp (we'd like to curve into Falthis and Anara, ideally) and some card advantage. Some notable cards are Seton's Desire (buff, brutal with threshold), Invigorate is "free" as we care about commander damage, Viridian Longbow is repeatable removal with Falthis, Howl of the Hunt can be a 'gotcha' with Anara, Oubliette is (too) cruel against decks without enchantment removal and Advocate of the Beast is like a Forced Adaptation on a body.
