Soulless One (PDH) (EDH / Commander)

Pauper EDH is an alternative format that uses any uncommon creature as the commander and the 99 are commons.

This mono-black zombie tribal deck is headed by Soulless One. There's a lot of ways to build zombie tribal and I would not say Soulless One is the best way to do it, the upside it has over other potential zombie tribal commanders is that it's not that hurt by board wipes & it benefits from self-mill.

Almost half the deck is filled with zombies with various utilities, from self-mill (Returned Reveler), discard (Miasmic Mummy), removal (Priest of the Haunted Edge), life-loss (Siege Zombie) to recursion (Gravedigger).

The rest of the deck is mostly lands and a few pieces of draw, removal and evasion — mostly for the commander.

Some notable cards are Infernal Caretaker which has the potential to completely refill our hand and then some, Nameless Inversion counts as a zombie in the graveyard, Shred Memory can transmute for removal, evasion or an impactful card like Shepherd of Rot.

A fairly big weakness of the deck is naturally graveyard hate, if zombies are removed from our graveyard the commander does very little, but the deck can still build a reasonable board and does well in board-stalling situations thanks to cards like Sheperd of Rot and Siege Zombie. Another potential weakness is decks built around flying, there's no reach in the deck and very few sources of flying, might have to dedicate removal to keep them in check.
