Abzan Aggro Pioneer (Pioneer)

General Notes:
Other than just being a good ol' Siege Rhino aggro/midrange deck. The only thing of note is that for budgetary reasons I don't play mana confluence, but if that wasn't a concern I would include four of them to sure up the mana base to reduce the amount of mulligans per game. In the current meta life total isn't a massive concern so the life loss from the inclusion is manageable. Anything else would be more shock lands and a Eiganjo instead of the plains but if you are playing in a meta with a lot of boseiju's and assassins trophies then the basic might just be better. The basic is white because Gideon can be hard to cast on curve, but if you are playing more optimally with 4x mana confluence then it can be any color you wish. With mana confluence, field of ruin is possible to tangle with mono green's Nykthos' but it can be greedy as the deck has some pip restrictions. Probably better to just have a one of boseiju if mono green shows up a lot. The newest set has made a lot of changes including skrelv being a very important piece as being able to protect your board state makes the four-drop creatures a lot more viable than before. Contaminator has also shown results as well, pairing up with gideon, bankbuster, and vivien.

Matchups:
In my experience against lower to the ground decks like mono red is fairly farmable. I do well against izzet phoenix well pre and post sideboard. Mono Green is a bit of an issue but the Regisaur can check the cavalier of thorns, but pre sideboard it can be a struggle. Not sure about rakdos midrange just yet, but skrelv is a good new tool to deal with the incessant removal package, and the sideboard has good tools to try to manage it.

Conclusions:
I wouldn't say the deck is amazing but it can provide competitive games even with a pretty unfair meta at the moment. Mono green and rakdos are pretty oppressive against most decks so I wouldn't say this deck is a meta-buster or anything. This is just the deck that I've grown to love that doesn't get bullied by everything in the meta-game. As the nature of it lacking a value package necessarily, the deck is fairly versatile and can change a lot. If you have any comments for changes that would be great as I don't really have much to go off of online and I could easily be missing a bomb that could make this deck more viable.
