Kodama the Fierce (EDH / Commander)

This deck is largely a landfall deck with a soft Ad Nauseam and Reanimator strategy. The strategy of the deck involves playing Kodama or Ad Nauseam as quickly as possible in order to benefit from the ETB triggers that Kodama has. Play cards that are exactly (or higher) than the cost of the permanent you are actively trying to put into play. For this tactic to work, you'll want to play creatures, as there is a few ways to bring the creature out of the graveyard and back onto the battlefield for less than its original CMC.

The primary win-con is through Impact Tremors, Kodama, Scute Swarm (or Field of the Dead) and bounce lands. This will demonstrate with Field of the Dead as it is more resource intensive, but the line of play is the same:

Begin the combo with 6 lands on the battlefield, Impact Tremors, Field of the Dead, and Kodama.

1. Play your seventh land (a bounce land), triggering Kodama (1), triggering Field of the Dead, triggering the bounce land
2. Resolve the bounce land trigger to return any land other than Field of the Dead to your hand
3. Resolve Field of the Dead's trigger, generating a Zombie Token, triggering Kodama (2), triggering Impact Tremors
4. Resolve Impact Tremors, dealing 1 damage to each opponent. Resolve Kodama -(2) placing another bounce land onto the battlefield, triggering Field of the Dead, and triggering the bounce land
5. Resolve the bounce land trigger to return the first bounce land to your hand

Repeat 3 through 5 until you have no more opponents.
