Viendo una revisión 304. There is a more recent version of this deck.
Hi. I'm playing UB Faeries in Modern since 2015 and i've seen all the competitive metagames since then. This is definitely my pet deck and i will always adapt it to render it as competitive as possible. This deck is highly flexible and can be changed to a more aggressive build. It can win any matchup, but due to the high number of unusual interactions and possibilites in decision making, this beautiful deck requires a lot of training and creative adaptation, in individual deck building preferences and also during play.
Update 14.10.:
Mainbaord IN: 1x Mutavault, 1x Riptide Laboratory, 1x Island, 3x Drown in the Loch, 2x String of Disappearances, 1x Snapcaster Mage
Mainboard OUT: 1x Creeping Tar Pit, 1x Swamp, 3x Counterspell, 4x Dauthi Voidwalker
Sideboard IN: 3x Dauthi Voidwalker, 2x Mystical Dispute
Sideboard OUT: 2x Void Mirror, 1x Ashiok, Dream Render, 1x Aether Gust, 1x Spreading Seas
Explanation to the changes: Mainboard: I decided to change the deck from a mainly proactive build to a more reactive version. Dauthi Voidwalker lately felt very clunky due to the massive amount of 1-mana creature removal spells in the meta. Also, it predominantly is a turn 2 play and pushes aside a turn 2 Bitterblossom, which weakened the Faerie shell altogether. Still, it is a brilliant card that perfectly works together with Liliana of the Veil and that manifests a clock and graveyard hate at the same time, that's why some copies wandered into the sideboard.
Taking out the Voidwalkers and their static Graveyard hate enabled to add Drown in the Loch to the mainboard and taking out Counterspell. Don't get me wrong, Counterspell is a great card, but we have the possibility to play blue and black, so Drown in the Loch is way more flexible option to hold control over creatures on the board and spells on the stack at the same time. It outclasses Counterspell in Aether Vial matchups and low mana curve matchups and only gets outclassed by it in big mana and ramp matchups.
The deck being more reactive now means playing more spells during my opponents turns, thats why i added some copies of String of Disappearances and a Snapcaster Mage. It is known that Snapcaster Mage is an overall great card and a staple for blue decks, but i wouldn't play more than 1 copy in here, since the deck mainly focuses on creatures. String of Disappearances is an interesting card that can lead to creative plays, bouncing our own flash creatures and replaying them to counter something with Spellstutter Sprite or get another flashback with Snapcaster Mage for example, while also being able to copy this spell and bounce more of our own creatures or the opponents creatures. By the way, it feels good to get rid of a Murktide Regent for only 1 blue mana. More proactivity also means adding 1 more utility land in the form of Riptide Laboratory, which has exceptional synergy with Spellstutter Sprite, Vendilion Clique, Mistbind Clique and Snapcaster Mage, it can protect our wizards, make us replay their etb abilities and it can also drag out games if needed.
Finally, i exchanged 1 Creeping Tar Pit for 1 Mutavault due to a synergy boost with Spellstutter Sprite and Mistbind Clique, plus, Mutavault comes into play untapped and it's activation cost is more mana efficient.
Sideboard: Ashiok, Dream Render isn't as favored as before because Titan decks and Tron isn't as prevalent in the current metagame as they once were. Also, 3 mana for a graveyard hate card is often too expensive against those fast decks. Void Mirror felt clunky and not effective enough in most matchups. It shines against Elementals and Cascade, but we have enough cards in our Sideboard against those. I finally added Mystical Dispute to the side, even though i'm not a fan of the card, because i don't see it as a silver bullet. The only reason that i use it, is because it can come in against a vast number of decks at the moment. I chose Dauthi Voidwalker over other Graveyard hate, because it also is a clock for our opponent, besides that, most decks that heavily rely on their graveyard don't use much creature removal.
