Mono Black Aristocrat Artifact (Modern)

The strategy for this deck is to survive with life gain and removal and later win with explosive spells. You gain life in this deck mainly with Aetherflux Reservoir. Cards like Tidy Conclusion and Noxious Gearhulk can also gain you big amounts of health when played in the right situation. Gifted Aetherborn can help you destroy problematic creatures and also gives you 2 or 3 life if you've chosen Aetherborn for Metallic Mimic. You can easily gain an advantage over your opponent by making him discard some of his cards. Herald of Anguish would be very dangerous for your opponent since it is not a legendary creature and both copies can be on the battlefield at the same time. Implement of Malice is a cheaper alternative but you can give the activated ability up for sacrificing it later in the game. Now we move to the more aristocratic part of the deck. Golden Guardian and Servo Schematic help us create many artifact creatures to then later sacrifice. We weaponize this by playing Dictate of Erebos and Massacre Wurm to cut down enemy lines as well as dealing some damage to the enemy's health. Earlier mentioned Herald of anguish doesn't offer only discarding but offers good removal and can also fuel our sacrifice engine and since it has improvise and we are playing a big chunk of artifacts we can play him relatively early. If we have a board advantage we can instead sacrifice our creatures to draw cards with God-Eternal Bontu and Ayara, First of Locthwain, and indirectly with Erebos, Bleak-Hearted, and still be able to deal some damage in the process. There are some cards making use of the energy mechanic. Gonti's Aether Heart can easily win you the game with a solid setup on the board. The Heart and Gonti's Machinations offer a quick acquisition of energy counters that can be later used as a fuel for Consulate Turret. Consulate Turret also activates the Sanguine Bond - Exquisite Blood combo. The Immortal Sun and Forsaken Monument are general buffs to your board and every action you do. They both buff your creatures, the Monument gives you 2 health every time you play an artifact and makes you generate more mana from the 5 colorless lands in the deck. The Immortal Sun on the other hand lets you draw one more card, makes your spells 1 generic mana cheaper, and shuts down all Planeswalkers. Two other win conditions are achieved with Planar bridge and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Planar Bridge can let you play any permanent you need at the moment for the cost of 8 generic mana. This can be very powerful with Gonti's Aether Heart on the battlefield and 8 energy counters in your reserve, giving you a second round. Ugin can help you deal with the enemy swarming you with creatures with his -X ability, his +2 can be a very powerful removal tool and his -10 ability wins you the game. With 7 loyalty counters, Ugin is sure to stay for at least one more round.
