Yooo dragon boys and girls, this is my updated Scion list. I started it with a 120 - 130 euros budget total and upgraded it a bit over time (see the fetch land found in a lucky MH2 draft :P). In order to fit that price tag the most expensive cards were bought in CM in poor quality and various languages. I am very happy with the way the deck plays out, and it's always a blast to have some nasty dragons flying around the pod. It is not a completely optimized deck as I wanted to give it some Treasure token / Smaug flavor. I also cut out the classic combos with the Moltensteel dragon because I don't find them so interesting; I chose instead to make the deck into a midrange machine of gore.
In brief, the strategy is as follows: the start is going to be slow, as we fish through the lands necessary to fill out the 5 colors. There are few creatures below 5 mana. I haven't had particular problems ever with this mana base, but it can definitely be upgraded with better lands. I never play Scion with 5 mana: you always need 7, so you can protect him with an instant activation. Once he is on the board, the tides start to turn. This monster of a jack-of-all-trades does everything for you, so you better keep him alive. All of a sudden, you can attack an opponent with no blockers and e.g. steal their artifacts, wipe their board, make everybody sacrifice their strongest creature ecc. While you keep them in check with the commander, you can use the extra mana to simply dump dragons in the gy (for example Scourge of Valkas) that you will reanimate at a later point with a lovely Patriarch's Bidding or Eerie Ultimatum. Alternatively, forward your board with Enchantments to draw cards; as most dragons have an attack trigger, I have several ways to give them haste. Purphoros allows to cheat them into play and then let them go to the gy. Big swings can be made devastating with a simple Atarka activation. Are you out of cards while everybody is stocked and waiting to combo off? Deal unblocked damage with the Dragon Mage and refresh your minds. The deck is always unpredictable, can be hyper-aggressive or more stalling: if Scion is doomed and your board miserable, make him become Piru, who will die in a blaze of glory, mauling everybody's board and easily giving you 40-60 life. Really fun and can't recommend enough to build it.

This deck appears to be legal in EDH / Commander.
