Ashiok is seizing your dirty thoughts (Standard)

With an Esper deck winning the most recent SCG Open, I decided to modify the deck, so it would run like Gerard Fabiano's. I love that he plays Ashiok that much!

So I decided to make my own!

DA BREAKDOWN

Control

Dissolve , and Hero's Downfall , Supreme Verdict and Thoughtseize

Since we run black, we have access to Thoughtseize which is amazing, period.

Jace, Architect of Thought is an amazing card draw engine, and will usually eat damage that you were supposed to get... which is an upside for us while getting to that 6th land. If you ultimate him is game over.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion

Elspeth, Sun's Champion is our wall, our 5th, 6th and 7th wrath and is nuts when you get her emblem... Mutavault s are people too

Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is a bomb that no one expects, because almost no one plays her (him?). He is a real headache for control if you exile their win con (fuck you Elixir of Immortality ). You can get really good stuff off your opponent's deck, to bash their heads with. He gets really big, REALLY fast. I would run 3... but apparently that is a bad idea? He is great vs aggro, great vs monsters and amazing vs burn (he eats burn spells that would hit you)... plus what other planeswalker can claim to be able to cast Thoughtseize ? (which is what apparently this PW came to do on Theros lol)

Fabiano runs Jace, Memory Adept , but I traded mine some time ago :(

SIDEBOARD TIME

VS Burn or Aggro

Nyx-Fleece Ram , Doom Blade and 1 Obzedat, Ghost Council come in for the AEtherling , 1 Revelation, 1 Elspeth and 2 thoughtseize (why do you want to kill yourself more?). You can also bring in the archangels!! while taking out more verdicts which do nothing vs red burn.

VS controlish matchups

-3 Verdicts (leave one when they side in Brimaz, king of orezcos, Archangel of Thune or Barons, which go out for 2 Negate , 1 Duress and the last Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver .

VS Monsters (Jund, Gruul, or any other big dudes)

-1 AEtherling , -1 thoughtseize, -1 Detention sphere (they have access to Destructive Revelry , Abrupt Decay and Golgari Charm . They go out for 2 Doom Blade s and the last Thoughtseize
