Lore:
Quintoria is a land of many wonders and undiscovered secrets. Separated from the kingdom of Benalia by the Great Ocean, Quintoria’s vast landscapes have largely been untouched by the endeavours of mankind throughout most of its history. However, recently, a band of pirates, lead by the relic seeker Vraska, has made it their objective to uncover the forgotten riches that are said to be found here – and in doing so, set a chain of events in motion that may very well change the fate of the entire world.
About [Qunitoria]:
[Quintoria] is a set of Commander decks that are specifically designed and balanced to be played against each other. In addition, they are themed decks with ‘flavor’ being one of the main focal points of the decks. Therefore, they are not 'optimized' decks built for power. The decks might change from time to time, for example when new cards get released or a certain card is found to be too strong or ‘unfun’ in a given context. Some (but very few) cards are included with a certain artwork in mind (for example basic lands, or for example the card ‘Ponder’ in the deck ‘Deepsea Creatures’ is supposed to have the merfolk artwork). These cards are usually not further mentioned. The lore of [Quintoria] (first paragraph) is not connected to the official MTG lore. It merely borrows some of the names presented on the cards. [Quintoria] is supposed to be a fun experience for MTG players who value flavor, as well as the social aspect of the game. Personal adjustments to the decks and/or using placeholders for expensive cards and/or playing the decks in a digital setting are very much encouraged.
Mulligan suggestion:
Once you have drawn seven cards you are allowed to dismiss any number of them, put them to the side, draw that many new cards and then shuffle the dismissed cards back into the deck. You may repeat this process as many times as you want but each time drawing up to one less card in your hand.
Gameplay tips:
The decks don't contain any infinite combos and the power is usually that of a very strong precon. This means that resources are limited. It is generally a good idea to mulligan away cards that are too expensive mana-wise and, in the beginning, put emphasis on playing your land every turn while also trying to get some card advantage going and maybe playing a few ramp spells. Using your removal in the right moments and on the right pieces is key. When contemplating using a removal spell on something, ask yourself how much of a threat is the potential target to me right now and how much value does it generate for its controller. Overall, try not to get salty when something is not going your way and always remember to have fun! :)
