Lore:
Nobody can really remember a time when the numerous tribes of the Valakut Mountains have not tried to sever each other’s heads over a variety of territorial and hegemonial disputes. One would think that this is a bad thing but in reality, most of the mountains’ inhabitants thrive on bloody conflicts and for them the prospect of war is something to be excited about. Not too long ago, the focus of violence has shifted to a bunch of outsiders that have started encroaching upon the Valakut foothills. In good old warlord fashion, a young ogre, called Kazuul, has successfully managed to unite a number of tribes under his will and is now declaring war on anyone who doesn’t bow to him.
Author's note:
[Quintoria] is a set of decks that are specifically designed and balanced to be played against each other in a Commander setting. In addition, they are themed decks with ‘flavor’ being one of the main focal points of the decks. Therefore, they are not optimized decks or built for power. The decks might change from time to time, i.e. when new cards get released or a certain card is found to be too strong or ‘unfun’ in the given context. Some (but very few) cards are included with a certain artwork in mind (i.e. basic lands, i.e. the card ‘Ponder’ in the deck ‘Deepsea Creatures’ is supposed to have the merfolk artwork). These cards are usually not further mentioned. [Quintoria] is supposed to be a fun experience for MTG players who value flavor, as well as the social aspect of the game. Personal adjustments to the decks and/or using placeholders for expensive cards are very much encouraged.
