To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
After the Lurrus' ban:
...::: LAST UPDATE :::...
I have received quite a few comments about the deck in various places. I decided to make some minor changes to the sideboard and maybeboard:
In the current version, the deck is more consistent, focused on its own strategy (which is probably the main point), rather than prepared for various eventualities. It's a game where you win or lose. Mill archetype is not one of the most winnable, but it can certainly give a lot of fun. And may this be the case with any inspiration my deck may give someone someday.
The deck can still be accelerated by exchanging lands (Polluted Delta, Watery Grave), but I'm in no hurry to do so. I've played with the deck a bit in this form and mostly the difference such changes would give me wouldn't affect whether I win or lose.
...::: MY THOUGHTS FROM BEFORE THE LAST UPDATE :::...
I returned to M:tG after almost 15 years. I was looking for the right archetype for me. I became incredibly fond of mill, thanks to the card Glimpse the Unthinkable (which caught my attention when I was browsing cards online. I started (quickly and overly) collecting and buying all the cards for mill. In two months I collected the whole set classer with only mill cards (over 300 cards). I started playing tournaments at a local store and with my brother.
This version of the deck is by me.
I built it solely from cards that I physically own.
Let the fun begin!
Some interactions:
1) Field of Ruin + Archive Trap
2) Scheming Symmetry + Archive Trap
3) Scheming Symmetry + Thought Scour [the opponent looks for a good card in the library and even if there is no Archive Trap in my hand, he mills it anyway and I draw a card]
4) Oboro, Palace in the Clouds + Ruin Crab + Hedron Crab
5) Fabled Passage + Ruin Crab + Hedron Crab
In the deck is moreover:
All "boosted" by Snapcaster Mage and Lurrus of the Dream-Den (he also lets Crabs and Snaps back into play!)
in the sideboard:
When it comes to mayboard:
Obviously there are plenty of other playable cards for this archetype, e.g. Jace Planeswalkers, Sphinx's Tutelage + Teferi's Tutelage, Duress, Mind Funeral or artifacts like Codex Shredder and Mesmeric Orb or even Horrors (Nemesis of Reason and Consuming Aberration), but you cannot play everything. In this case, I chose the cards that I most enjoy playing with or just the ones that I like the most.
Hope you will enjoy it!
I'm open to all feedback ;-)
PS. I'm still playing and trying to find (for myself) the best shape of this deck.I guess I'll have to do some land rotation (noted in the comments on the card list), adjust the sideboard for Lurrus, and maybe think about putting Mesmeric Orb in the main deck (which will significantly boost your opponent's regular milling).
