Can it be fun? Absolutely.
And that, I think, is the point!

At a local tournament I tried playing a much slower version of this deck and - you guessed it - it was successful in winning matches, especially thanks to Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precinct Six.

Quick tip: What is Dark Ritual for, one may ask? Apart from the fact that it can save your life it allows you to put on the second turn onto the battlefield Mindwrack Harpy or counter target spell with Broken Ambitions (the opponent will probably not be able to pay 3 additional mana).
