"Welcome to owlbear country!
The winding way is long and cold, so make sure to bring a warm coat lest you succumb to winter's rest. The weather can turn at any moment, it's easy to lose your way in a whiteout so stick to known landmarks, and hope that you don't encounter the freezing luminescent rain that the northern lights bring.
Should you come across our ursine friends in their natural state, please remember that the striped bears are just as scared of you as you are of them (NOT TRUE FOR THE ULVENWALD BEAR, IF YOU ENCOUNTER HIM PRAY THAT HE IS NOT HUNGRY). Beware the mother bear traveling with her cubs, she has a savage swipe that you do not want to experience.
Good luck out there, happy travels, and most importantly, always remember that bear spray is the best way to dispel a wild bear!"
The main strategy is to beat your opponent with big bears using normal stompy stuffr. 4x Giant Growth and 4x Savage Swipe for combat tricks/finishers. The most important thing about these 8 cards is the bear art, obviously, but both sets will play well with Ulvenwald Bear, who wants creatures to die.
Early game, we're going to put out 2 mana 2/2s. Ashcoat Bear, Mother Bear, and Werebear allow us to get some early board control and ramp. Having a flash bear can catch people off guard, and mama bear offers a way for us to build-a-board later on if there is removal.
3x Winding Way and 3x Lead the Stampede let us constantly fill our hands with bears. I've toyed with a 2x/4x split but we want an extra copy of winding way to trigger Werebear's threshold.
To keep on theme, this takes place in the American Northwest, so we're running snow lands and 3x Winter's Rest for some basic creature 'removal.' This probably makes our deck weaker than staying in green only, but forcing opponent's creatures to hibernate is just too on theme to pass up, plus the blue can open up some sideboard options. I've played around with Phantasmal Bear, but it's just not good when we want to play our one mana instants and sorceries. Theme is also why we're using Striped Bears over Sarulf's Packmate (plus the bears synergize better with savage swipe).
For sideboard, we're running normal stuff. 3x Dispel (our canned bear spray), 3x Natural State, and 3x Pulse of Murasa. 2x Stuffed Bear can help us in games 2 and 3 as it is easy for our opponents to sideboard in something like Fiery Cannonade or Relic of Progenitus our mama bears.
We can also stay on theme in our sideboard with 2x Whiteout to force our opponent's fliers to the ground, and by running 2x Luminescent Rain for countering aggro/burn strategies.
Edit:
-3 Pulse of Murasa
+1 Luminescent Rain
+2 Snow Devil
