Blast from the Past (EDH / Commander)

Flashback is a handy mechanic for your instants and sorceries to have. It allows you to recast previous spells and force your opponent to pay attention to what is in your graveyard. Just because you have zero cards in hand, does not mean you are defenseless. With this deck having a heavy focus on instants and sorceries, you do have the disadvantage of being open to more attacks with lesser creatures.

Fortunately, there are solutions to those situations within this deck. Since you prevent all damage that would be dealt to Sevinne, the Chronoclasm, you can equip Pariah's Shield to Sevinne, or enchant them with Pariah to just prevent all damage that would be dealt to you entirely. You can also use Talrand, Sky Summoner, Thalia's Geistcaller, and/or Shark Typhoon to create an army of token creatures to attack or block as necessary.

Backdraft Hellkite and Lier, Disciple of the Drowned will grant any instant and sorcery cards in your graveyard flashback if they don't already do. Since this deck doesn't have any counter-spells, running Lier in this deck doesn't hurt it too much.

Your win conditions in this deck include damaging spells like Beacon Bolt, spellslinger damage from permanents like Guttersnipe, and attacking with a token army created by permanents like Talrand, Sky Summoner.
