To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
So late one night I faced a question: what deck am I going to build for the standard tournament? I'm not fond of the new sets and don't own many standard cards, but I can't come up with anything fast enough to compete with warriors or goblins. Then, I saw a Keeper of the Lens and and ensoul artifact sitting on my desk next to each other, and I began... tinkering.
This deck is a powerhouse, usually knocking people out in four turns, maybe five or six if your opponent is running heavy removal. Keeper or Thopter on turn one almost always sinks an early win, as they can become much too powerful to deal with by the time your opponent gets anything. Disregard your life total: it quickly becomes a matter of who can kill who first. Swing with everything and take on all comers. If the creatures don't do the job then burn them with inferno fist after attacking, or trash your creature altogether with shrapnel blast.
Important Combinations:
Ornithopter/Keeper of the Lens + Aqueous Form + Ensoul Artifact/Inferno Fist
Can result in 2-5 on turn 2 and possibly 10-12 on turn 3 if you pull temur battle rage.
Scuttling Doom Engine + Shrapnel Blast
Attack, then sack. 11 if they block, SIXTEEN if they don't. Chief engineer is supremely useful to get it on the field quickly.
This deck has won two standard tournaments so far... out of the two I've competed in. I'm looking for ways I might make this deck even faster within standard guidelines, or maybe more versatile. Any suggestions are more than welcome.
