Mardu Burn Squad

Every creature it plays is the strongest creature in these colors for the converted mana cost. Bloodsoaked champion with it's rebuy value is a huge annoyance to many decks. Seeker of the way as we all know is an all star that can attack and live through several creatures. Goblin Rabble master needs no introduction as he produces tokens to generate value. Last but not least is the Butcher of the Horde who can serve as a closer or a much needed source of lifegain and stabilization.

This deck only runs twenty-two lands because it is all about efficiency. It runs all the best burn spells including 4 magma jet which help smooth out our draws, lightning strike which is considered one of the best removal spells in the format, and stoke the flames which is likely the -best- burn spell in the format. It runs mainboard 2 crackling doom and one murderous cut to remove things that get in our way that are hard to deal with our burn suite, (it also runs the same configuration in the sideboard for midrange matchups).

Hordeling outburst is a strong card in the format right now. A lot of decks are running one for one removal so you can likely get in quite a few points of damage before they kill them all. Even if they are chump blocking they are good.

Last but not least is the guy that this deck focuses on.. Sorin, Solemn Visitor. This guy does everything from lifegain to making vampire tokens to ending the game vs midrange decks with his ultimate. Unless you are facing a deck with endless mana dorks and tokens, his ultimate will likely help you seal the deal.

The sideboard at the moment is under work but it does help shore up some of our tougher matchups. 4 Thoughtseize and 2 despise seem to be a must in formats with jeskai ascendancy and whips of erebos. Along with getting rid of mana dorks that will help them get to their big creatures even getting rid of a courser of kruphix is really strong. 2 copies Erase also assists with the enchantment removal that I can't get to with hand disruption. One of the hardest matchups will be Azban midrange and azban aggro. To assist with these decks, mardu mirrors, and black aggro decks I have currently 4 Dark Betrayals which may become 2 bile blights and 2 dark betrayals in the future. To round out the list comes my favorite sacrifice spell of all time, Crackling doom, and another copy of Murderous cut to hit those creatures you can't burn away. As you can see very little of my focus is on the red aggro decks because I have 11 forms of lifegain in the main board and literally infinite removal spells. I don't want to run drown in sorrow or anger of the gods because my guys will die too.
