To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This deck involves many interconnecting strategies for WinCon.
I have the layout of 'groups' listed more by card type than by combo, as there's just too much going on here.
[initially, I want to provide the correlation between how Sisay can fetch Lin Sivvi, who can fetch the Skyshroud Poacher; that's Commander > Rebels > Elves. kk.] psst mulligan back any Legendary cards you don't need prior to Sisay.
Perhaps the best approach to explain this is: WinCon or Survival.
WinCon Focuses (in no particular order):
• Kaldra - Using Sisay to fetch the three pieces, and support roles such as Eight-and-a-Half-Tails and cards like Eladamri, Lord of Leaves or Sigarda, Herons Grace w/ the Mirror Entity to make it untouchable, already invulnerable, always recreatable. It's not -spectactular- but can be handy w/ Worldslayer or Quietus Spike (pro-color unblockable).
• Mirror Entity - using this Shapeshifter, just (1) colorless spent means all things are every type, which is a big trick in this deck throughout many combos. It isn't hard to quickly hit 20/20's in this deck.
• Paradox Engine w/ 'per elf' mana dorks - GG? the deck is set up to allow quick fetches of anything enough to get the ball rolling, then the mana base is solid via mana rocks and hastey Elves using the Helm of Kaldra. the Paradox Engine is an easy fix with fetching happening each untap, (a (1) from the Mirror Entity to boost), ending up landing the whole deck into play via Planar Bridge (Sisay, Lin Sivvi, Skyshroud Poacher, and Planar Bridge all fetch indefinitely) and Concordant Crossroads to hasten it all to the face (there are -zero- instants or sorceries in this deck).
-Cough Selvala, Explorer Returned who is Legendary herself, in place of a mana dork if none were drawn. It typically is enough.
... seems strange to write up only three main WinCons, but these are direct ways of dealing out the fetch effect to be usable in play when it matters.
There are in fact many more forms of 'winning', in the way a control deck 'wins' when a time loop hits with infinite turns.
Here are the somewhat-defensive/somewhat-offensive combo's:
• Crucible of Worlds w/ the Inventor's Fair to fetch it first, to then play the Fair back and do it again each turn? Grab that Nevynirral's Disc, or the Darksteel Forge + Platinum Angel, with Sisay grabbing Eight-and-a-Half-Tails, Yisan, the Wandering Bard searching Copper Gnomes at (2)? Time out Yissan, the Wandering Bard first, then drop initially a Mother of Runes. (explained that in reverse, but it goes to show how it can be tight-knit, so i didn't correct it). NOTE: I have noticed it is easier to work with the Fair when having a couple artifacts in hand, otherwise fetching over and over is untimely.
• Mindslaver + Bow of Nylea, yeah, that's (11)G for indefinite turns in a duel, or the ability to nab the mad-CC'er of their turn, hitting player C, then coming back to them tapped out and swing for the win... it is nice. No reason one can't do this multiple times a turn, with a Seeker of Skybreak or simple Sisay+Fair, taking everyone's turns for them lol.
• Ugins Nexus, for when the Elves get heavy on your side of the table or starting hand (depending on the flow of the game, and what is out stopping potentials in Sisay).
• Lin Sivvi, warrior princess. no kidding.
• Yisan is a good one, as you can:
1 - Mother of Runes, Glistener Elf, Hope of Ghirapur.
2 - Eight-and-a-Half-Tails, Melira, Copper Gnome, Priest, Seeker of Skybreak.
3 - Azusa, Dosan, Lin Sivvi, Mangara, Mirror Entity, Rune-Tail, Selvala, Elvish Archdruid, Ramunap Excavator.
4 - Linvala, Odric, Nullmage Shephard, Wirewood Channeler, Skyshroud Poacher.
5 - Cataclysmic Gearhulk, Sigarda, Heron's Grace, Gilt-Leaf Archdruid.
7 - Platinum Angel.
• Poacher is a goto for certain combo's in the deck:
• Tomb of Urborg + Spreading Algae + Mana Web:
• Honorable Mention: Seeker of Skybreak + Quest for Renewal equals immediate 4 counters haha, tap: untap, tap: untap...
• Umezawa's Jitte: able to deal with pests like Linvalla, as well as deal decent commander damage, if that "clock" is a thing.
• Hope of Ghirapur + Quietus Spike, if the Spike is drawn from starting hand.
• Tamiyo's Journal: Gives you just one fetch with Sisay, to build up simultaneously reaching other directions, for Inventor's Fair to fire off having 1 card between the Journal and the Fair being fetched played and used.
• Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Ashnod's Altar + Kitchen Finks: Use Yissan for the Finks, use the Fair for the Altar, and use Sisay for Melira... and ideally you'll be starting the game with one to attempt the remaining combo.
• Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury: get mana ramp alongside Yissan's fetching of "per elf" dorks; disenchant; fill your hand (not as epic as it would be in other decks, but nice all the same).
• Ajani Unyielding: draw 3 every turn (there are -only- permanents in this deck); creature exile (nice for EDH); ability to boost things up (work in progress to utilize the potential in this).
• Gideon, Martial Paragon: Untap all creatures - EPIC with what's going on in this deck; he becomes a creature, nice if about to get roflstomped; tap all opponents creatures - nice alternative to Odric.
• Karn Liberated: exile cards away from hands; exile any permanents (woot!); we all know his ulti lollllll....
• An alternative, backup, fetch for any creatures or artifacts is through Skyship Weatherlight. If you have sufficient mana, anything can happen.
Now for the more fully-defensive combo's, to play 'control' in a game:
• Pariah Shield + Shield of Kaldra:
• Glacial Chasm + Crucible of Worlds + Asuza:
• As a note, if a game is decidedly defensive, fetching the Hall of the Bandit Lord, or the Shield of Kaldra, or Rune-Tail, or Sigarda, it can help a lot with making sure Sisay is even able to be -used- at all!
• Platinum Angel +
a Shield of Kaldra,
or That Which Was Not Taken,
or Eight-and-a-Half-Tails,
or Darksteel Forge.
Notes on cards not yet mentioned:
• Cataclysmic Gearhulk, an easy way to thin the game out. replicatable.
• Mangara of Corondor, an easy exile on a stick, especially if Helm is used in conjunction.
• Melira, Sylvok Outcast: an easy way to deal with pesky infect.
• Mox Opal, easy to add when you've already two artifacts, which makes things like Paradox Engine explode!
• Oketra's Monument, very nice for boosting up the creature count, to then use with Mirror Entity and whatever you have in that direction in that game being played. Helps Sisay be cheaper.
• Awakening, Quest for Renewal, Seedborn Muse - untap is awesome.
• Yavimaya Hollow and Kor Haven are great for dealing with massive/absurd situations like blightsteel haha
I hope you like the concepts, and if you would be willing to write a note on this deck, i'd appreciate it. It's as all-comer as I could make it, started it when I picked up a Foil Sisay for $4 and change at a card shop lol
It just keeps pressing and pressing on, nonstop keeps launching, especially when you know what the opponent is playing and can pre-empt; if you can deal with his cards with fewer of yours, it leaves you room to squeeze in that WinCon xD
Enjoy
