Sadomasochism Incarnate - Upgraded (EDH / Commander)

By now, you may be wondering exactly how the deck itself plays. Put simply, it's an absolute blast if you have any kind of love for life drain in Commander. Your early game begins like the vast majority of Commander decks, dropping early mana rocks like Mind Stone (itself a flavorful little nod), while setting up early threats like Blood Artist to ensure that you're successfully Exsanguinateing the table effectively.

The mid game is more setup for Astarion, potentially letting you drop Astarion, the Decadent himself early with the right ramp, but just as likely making sure he's going to put in work by playing out synergistic cards like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Here, card draw like Sign in Blood and Ambition's Cost sets you up for your end game.

The finale starts with Astarion himself but doesn't end with him necessarily, as you have a truly impressive selection of haymakers and life draining combos that really make you feel like you're a vampire yourself. Knocking a player out with Blood Tribute and Wound Reflection can feel good, and we have a very healthy number of similar effects that are here to help you bleed your opponents.
