Jack's W/B Budget Warrior counters (Standard)

Not one of mine this time, this is one of my gaming group's first deck. Strategy here is to use the Shadowspears and Battlebrawlers for early board pressure until you can draw into Woe-Reaper and Strike-Leader to generate board presence advantage. Roll over the enemy.

A lot of cards in this set up allow for +1/+0, +2/+0 and +1/+1 to make warriors bigger and Obelisk of Urd allows more counters to hit the field on warriors.

While beatdown seems to be the deck's primary goal, if that goes badly a secondary win condition is to outlast the mid-game with life gains until Archfiend or Daghatar drop. In both cases the primary strategy is to keep protecting two creatures and buff them like crazy all the while using the Fiend to remove most of your opponent's board presence. Unless you're up against mono-green or dragons this usually seems to trade well.

This deck is quite slow to get off the ground in practice as it's heavy in the 3 and 4 drops and could do with some more creature removal and a tighter focus. Recommendations welcome as I'm going to be helping Jack optimize this deck.

Note: We don't play at FNM and are definitely casual players with limited budgets so there's no point recommending some Elspeth Sun's Champion or playsets of mythics here.
