To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
This deck uses Ink-Treader Nephilim in a midrange/combo strategy to utilize the copied spells from Ink-Treader to gain card and board advantage.
Fire//Ice, Niveous Wisps, and Fleeting Distraction all work to gain us card advantage when cast on our Nephilim, since they're copied for all of our creatures and all of our opponent's creatures. Snap works similarly as well, each copy untaps our lands, so we can tap all of our land to float mana, then it all untaps, doubling what we had. Pseudo-ramp!
Our primary win conditions are seen in Spitting Image, Heat Shimmer, and Act of Treason; where a secondary win condition is found in Nivmagus Elemental. We control the copies of all the spells, allowing us to protect our creatures if they target the Nephilim with hostile spells, or only tap down their creatures with our spells, making the elemental bigger and bigger.
Precursor Golem works well with this spell setup and only gets crazier with Nephilim on the board.
Our manabase is slow and a little sketchy, but that's occasionally a compromise made with a budget. Darksteel Ingot and Fertile Grounds are included as an attempt to avoid color screw.
