Pillow fort all the wayyyy....also, my first EDH deck, comments/ improvements very welcome
So, strategies. First of all, there isn't one. Second of all, whatever strategy I'm about to come up with now is a bit fluffy, so improvements will be made. For a cheap deck, what do you get? Well, the obvious "pillow fort defense comes from Norn's Annex and Dissipation field, one loses the opponent life, while the other slows their game by having creatures return (if it's a bunch of haste and dash we're doomed) This allows you to set up for other effects such as Soul Warden and Suture Priest to gain life and get the opponents to lose life for every creature they cast, Arashin Clerics, staff of Mind and Sun Magus, Kraken's eye and divine favour are just bonuses. Jace's Archivist allows for some neat tricks to do with card draw, while monastery siege gives you a similar option, or protects you just that bit more from other players who may burn you to Commander Hell. Now for the juicy part of the deck. We have an instant and two artifacts to allow card draw. First is Shrine of Piercing Vision. At a mana cost of two, we'll simply cast every blue counter and tap spell under the sun. Rack up to 20 or so counters, sacrifice the shrine and hopefully find a Jace. Rack Jace up to 8 loyalty or more, search you library for either Ulamog's Crusher or Ojutai, both hard hitters in this deck and then search out your opponent's library for something nice. Next one up is Long-term plans, again search for either the eldrazi or the dragon, third into the deck it goes. Finally, Citanul Flute, a sure-fire way of finding either creature. Isperia sure is nice, but she isn't a keystone to the deck, and winning is possible without her. Medomai is sweet, and along with Ojutai, make possible commanders in this deck, but beware, I've had Medomai bestowed to no end... and giving my opponents extra turns.
So there we have it, super budget deck for some super budget fun...(that made no sense)
