This deck is an attempt to build a less than Tier 0 deck, for an environment that is competitive, but avoids specifics things such as global land destruction and multiple consecutive turns. Daretti is powerful, but this isn't nearly as bad as it could be. In summary, I still want to have friends at the end of the day.
The deck plays with a lot of relatively low cost ramp, allowing for early and mid-game board wipe via Anger of the Gods, All is Dust, Oblivion Stone, and the like. In the meantime, Daretti is allowing you to stack your hand with his +2 ability, while simultaneously allowing you to dump some artifacts out to get sufficient blockers.
Memory Jar and Wheel of Fortune provide net gain draw, while having the added effect of allowing you to discard artifacts to bring in to play with Daretti's -2 ability, or with Goblin Welder or Feldin. Using the token generating artifact creatures is most optimal, and provides chump blockers to continue. Burning Wish also provides versatility in the deck, depending on your meta.
A scary lockdown condition is Nev's Disk with Darksteel Forge out. Especially powerful in 1v1 is Crucible of Worlds with Strip Mine. Notice that all of the lands added have re-use value with Crucible (if you are going to play a $30 card, use it well).
Win condition is usually a Blightsteel Colossus brought in via Kuldotha Forgemaster, or can be achieved by Mindslaver lock, or simply beating someone to death with a bunch of Wurmcoil Engine counters, or another win condition I achieved, is Karn bringing to like two Spines of Ish Sah (one was a sculpting steel copy).
I have had great success with this deck, find it to be a lot of fun. It is somewhat hated by my usual opponents, but because I did not make it a pure resource denial deck, they aren't scooping before the game starts. Surprisingly, Memory Jar is considered the most hated card... go figure.
Feel free to comment and give me your thoughts, but please keep in mind, I am trying to keep this casually competitive.
