Maralen's Mindlock (Modern)

The combo of Maralen of the Mornsong + Mindlock Orb is a haaaaaaaaaaard lock. No draws means your opponent probably won't draw into a kill spell, or anything relevant. So the question is twofold: (a) How do you abuse this power? and, more importantly, (b) how do you survive longer than your opponent, when you will both be losing 3 life every turn. I have two in the deck.

The first is, obviously, Exquisite blood. Negates the life loss entirely.
The other is Palace Siege. doesn't negate it, per say, but puts your opponent on a MUCH faster clock than you. They are losing 5 life per turn, you're only losing (net) 1.

The nice thing about the combo is no part of it targets. No part uses an activated ability, so it can't be needled.

logic behind cards is Jace's is a hand dump to just kill yours and your opponents hands.
lots of discard and small-creature removal.
Liliana is probably the best black control card that's ever been printed.

There's probably a thousand better ways to do the deck. But this is a good start, i think. If you expanded into legacy you'd grab stranglehold instead of mindlock orb, change the deck, and I think it would be a much more powerful combo. The only other similar card is Leonin Arbiter, but I don't like giving the opponent the option. Now you MAY be able to do a B/W deck with Aven Mindscensor. there may be enough control in that combo to make it work just as well. I think maybe Leonin ARbiter, too, but you'd have to be able to burn the lands. Again, there are ways to make it work. but Mornsong + mindlock orb is a haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard lock.
