This is a story deck. It tells the story of the offspring Jace and Liliana should have never had. So as they raised Ashiok, he was keenly aware of his ability to read minds. His gift to see into people's thoughts, into their dreams. His mother told him to use the gift for gain. His father never told him not to. All he ever said was "never take somebody's will from them." And so Ashiok learned that, of all the motivators, fear was the strongest. But not just fear. A person's darkest fear. Their deepest, coldest despair. The fear not of what lived in the world. But, rather, the fear of what lived in their own mind. And so he weaved those dreams. Those nightmares.
This deck is built around a single principle: Mill is a terrible win condition. But it can be a powerful win protector. Let me explain.
Mill is, as we all know, easily beaten. How many times has your MTGO opponent scooped when your emrakul goes into the gy? or your leyline shut it down. Mill, while fun, I don't think is a very good deck. However, how many times have you played against mill and had your "out" card milled? THAT, i think, is mill's true power.
That's what this deck is. Your win condition is, really, Jace. Though Ashiok has won me many matches. But Ashiok is meant to be here along with Sphinx's Tutelage in order to protect jace. So you Tutelage for 2 (minimum). Then ashiok for another 3. Then maybe another tutelage (if you can pay). Then fatesteal with Jace for +2. Eventually you ult jace.
The backup is Tutelage + ashiok straight mill. Against a deck with Emrakul, you can be in for a long time. I took a couple matches essentially to time on Game 1 because they had emrakul, so I'd just keep milling 3 until i finally milled their emrakul.
