A few specifics:
Liliana is there to help build you up for your {X} cost mill bombs, and can also potentially help with removal. However, she isn't necessary and can easily be swapping into your sideboard as necessary.
Your creatures get scary, very quickly. Phantasm and Aberration get huge, Duskmantle threatens to sap your life (especially with Jace), and you never know what you will end up with with Lazav. Beatdown is certainly a win-con with this deck, along side full-mill and direct damage (Duskmantle).
The splash of red is there to allow you to use Entering is the game for some reason goes that far. It also allows Slaughter Games be in the sideboard as a form of control. Liliana can help fetch the splash lands.
Considering adding in a fourth Psychic Strike and some Cyclonic Rift to my sideboard to deal with tokens and Witchbane Orb. (huge oversight in original deck design, derp!)
