[EDH] M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle Cloning & Stealing (EDH / Commander)

M'Odo the Gnarled Oracle is a legendary creature printed as a promo "Heroes of the Real" card for the team of MTGO (https://twitter.com/mtg_lee/status/1027985778146664448). Having a different back, this is not a MtG card and so it's not legal in any format, but you asked for it, so here it is! Remember, ask your playgroup before play this commander!

BUG Legendary Creature - Zombie Elf Wizard 0/3

Eminence - {X}, Discard a card: Target Player reveals cards from the top ot their library until they reveal a creature card with converted mana cost X or less. Put that card onto the battlefield under your control, then that player shuffles the rest into their library. Activate this ability onli if M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle is on the battlefield or in the command zone.

Beside being a broken card perfect for a competitive combo deck, we can see it's ability perfect for a Sultai Control deck. Discarding a card, we can pay 0 and see the entire deck of one player (most of the time), so we can use this ability to be aware of what will happen in the game.

We can even use M'Odo to steal the biggest creature from our oppoents deck, ready to win the game with their most valuable pieces, but we have to be prepared to discard and manage the cost of those resources.

Luckly, we can count on Madness, Flashback, Unearth, Jump-Start and such to have always access to some cards while using M'Odo ability. We can also discard land cards and be ready to replay them from the graveyard with Crucible of Worlds, Ramunap Excavator or Life from the Loam.

If our plan is to steal our opponents' creatures, we can of course play along this theme with Control and Clone effects, in a number limited only by our taste.

Around all of this, we have the usual control package: mass and spot removals, counterspells and a good bunch of value cards.

In all of this sections, we can count on cards with the ability we already mentioned, so we can personalize our list with the cards we love the most!

Played like this, there is a chance that your playgroup will let you play M'Odo the Gnarled Oracle, but be sure that i covered the competitive combo list too :)

Preminenza - {X}, Scarta una carta: Un giocatore bersaglio rivela carte dalla cima del suo grimorio fino a che non rivela una carta creatura con costo di mana coverntito pari o inferiore a X. Metti questa carta sul campo di battaglia sotto il tuo controllo, poi quel giocatori rimescola il resto nel suo grimorio. Attiva questa abilità solo se M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle è sul campo di battaglia o nella zona di comando.

Oltre ad essere una carta rotta perfetta per un mazzo combo competitivo, possiamo vedere la sua abilità come perfetta per un Sultai Control. Scartando una carta, possiamo pagare 0 e vedere l'intero mazzo di un giocatore (il più delle volte), così possiamo usare questa abilità per essere consapevoli di quello che accadrà durante la partita.

Possiamo anche usare M'Odo per rubare le creature più grosse dei nostri avversari, pronti a vincere con i loro pezzi più importanti, ma dobbiamo essere pronti a scartare carte e a gestire il prezzo di queste risorse.

Per fortuna, possiamo contareo su Follia, Flashback, Dissotterrare, Carica d'avvio e simili per avere sempre accesso a carte per l'abilità di M'Odo. Possiamo anche scartare carte terra ed essere pronti a rigiocarle dal cimitero con Crucible of Worlds, Ramunap Excavator o Life from the Loam.

Se il nostro piano è quello di rubare le creature dei nostri avversari, possiamo ovviamente giocare attorno al tema con effetti di controllo o di clone, in numero limitato solo dal nostro gusto.

Attorno a tutto questo, abbiamo il solito pacchetto control: rimozioni di massa e mirate, contromagie e un bel po' di carte per vantaggio.

In tutte queste sezioni, possiamo contare su carte con le abilità già citate, così da poter personalizzare la lista con quelle che ci piacciono di più!

Giocato così, c'è la possibilità che il tuo gruppo di gioco ti lasci giocare M'Odo the Gnarled Oracle, ma traquillo, ho coperto anche l'aspetto combo competitivo :)
