Mogis, God of Slaughter is the BR God from Born of Gods that brings pain and destruction. Beside being a 7/5 indestructible creature (if you have enough devotion), its triggered ability is a good point to start building an edh deck. The idea behind this list si a Control-ish deck more oriented as a Death & Taxes deck where the death and the taxes are often burn effects.
So, in the tax package we can tax the draws with Underworld Dreams, the tutors with Stranglehold, the land ramp with Zo-Zu the Punisher, the mana rocks with Treasure Nabber, the creatures with Rampaging Ferocidon and the spells with Spellshock... and a bunch of stuff with Harsh Mentor.
Being in a way a control deck, we need to keep our hand full so we need ways to draw constantly. Bolas's Citadel is always a perfect choise while Light Up the Stage synergise well with our commander and Erebos, God of the Dead prevent our opponent from gaining life.
Not making more life is important becouse we want to win burning our opponent to ashes and Tibalt, Rakish Instigator and Sulfuric Vortex are so extra important. Lots of our cards are permanent becouse we want to animate Mogis but we want also use Fanatic of Mogis and Gray Merchant of Asphodel for a lot of damages. Furnace of Rath and Dictate of the Twin Gods are also pretty good to speed up our burning effects, we just have to be extra careful with Heartless Hidetsugu or Havoc Festival.
We also need a good removal package to interact with our opponents. From Bedevil to Blasphemous Act, from Deadly Tempest to Chaos Warp, we can even play Jokulhaups and Obliterate being in a good position thanks to an Indestructible commander and, maybe, Darksteel Ingot, Cascading Cataracts and Darksteel Citadel.
As a footnote, we have access to a good 2-card combo with Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank. Putting quest counter on the Ascension should not be hard and, once we have both on the board and active, should be fairly easy win the game.
Mogis, God of Slaughter can be a good commander for a different control burn taxes deck in a format where the life point are high but are usually overused and can be fun to play around this with a bit of of rage.

Bolas's Citadel è sempre una scelta perfetta mentre Light Up the Stage sinergizza bene col nostro comandante e Erebos, God of the Dead evita che i nostri avversari guadagnino punti vita.
