Abzan Mentor Midrange

Meant to play as both a tokens deck and as a combo deck. Played a rougher version (w/o the megamorph cards but more removal) at a PPTQ and got crushed at 2-3----drop. Secure the Wastes is great right now and can stall early games and finalize late games. It's real weakness is Dispel...that card is very good against this deck. To fight it I put in a more dense set of creatures that have some card-advantage like Den Protector.

Update: Played this deck at States and a PPTQ. The deck really struggled to get the draws right and struggled against the tempo of some decks. The real lose is the 2-drop slot. Dromoka's command is super good if you hit a two drop and cast it on turn three but Fiery Impulse keeps most 2 drops from sticking and kinda kills dromoka's command. If WotC gives us a Raise the Alarm type effect in Oath of the Gatewatch then things will improve by putting two bodies on the field. I am thinking Rhino may get put in the sideboard and going to 4x Seeker of the Way in the mainboard. Secure the wastes could get reduced to make room for more Gideon and just exploit Mentor for the token base. Needs work but was a solid 50% win deck.
