To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
Hey - if you like it, if it gives you ideas, if you think it's pretty neat, price the like button, would ya?
This deck is a non-budget trial of a similar deck by SaffronOlive at MTGGoldfish. Check out the following link for explanation of most cards, with changes spoken of below: http://www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-96-51-tix-standard-ulamog-exile
The basic strategy is exile their stuff, process their stuff, ramp or steal land into Ulamog, and win!
Planar Outburst - Direct End Hostilities replacement with great upside.
Spell Shrivel - an on-plan counterspell - this lets us get rid of Rhinos/Dragons(except Dragonlord Dromoka)/big threats before they hit the board, exiling them for processing
Dig Through Time - oh yes, we are playing the best combo piece finder in the format while we can!
Shambling Vent - provides some life gain and our 15/16 creatures. I may up to 4, but I feel like we don't want tapped lands after turn three
Strand/Delta - fetch all the lands, feed all the digs!
Prairie Stream/Sunken Hollow - Our bofa lands - you know, 'cause you need bofa dem basics to git 'em in untapped
Sanctum of Ugin - Cast Ulamog, win more!
Sideboard changes:
Planar Outburst - side in vs. "go wide" strategies
Ruinous Path - answer those pesky 'walkers like Ugin, Liliana, Gideon, and friends
Both of the above enable awaken. I just rethought the 3 Arashin Clerics, and really I already have two in Shambling Vent. So down to two Clerics, and up one Spell Shrivel.
Let me know what you think! I'm playing this week at FNM and will post results and match analysis.
Thanks!
