Kitty Gauge (Standard)

Okay...so the thing with this deck is that there is probably a wealth of improvement to be made. I mean Declaration In Stone, Archangel Avacyn, additional Authority of the Consul, Oketra...It's tribal so Metallic Mimic could fit too.. There is quite a bit that could be fit into this deck. However, I've been playing it pretty much as is (I've had Prowling Seropard in the mainboard in place of Impeccable Timing....no idea why..) for a week now and the deck has yet to be beaten... So, let's consider it a budget version of cat tribal/life gain.

Effectively the way this deck has played is in one of two ways. Aggro or stalling into win conditions. On the one hand most of the cats are pretty low to the ground and the Scythe Leopard, with it's landfall trigger, especially allows you to get ahead early in the game. Once a Regal Caracal is out and online you can get way ahead on life total and, assuming you don't scratch your opponent's eyes out in the process, meet one of those win cons. Getting forty plus life is not all that difficult really. I've won most games by aggro, but when the other decks have gone off early or I've missed land drops the stall with Lifelink has worked to preserve the game until a Sovereign or Reservoir can be dropped for the win. I'm not yet sure if it's luck or a deceptively functional deck. It remains to be seen. But it is a lot of fun to play.

Sideboard as is, is mostly added stalling effects and protection for your cats.
