KCI Trawler (Modern)

The deck's goal is to quickly ramp into casting an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. It uses Krak-Clan Ironworks and Scrap Trawler to cycle through your deck while producing mana. Santum of Ugin can be used when casting an 8 cmc Hangarback Walker to retrieve the Emrakul from your deck.

Sideboard:

Abrupt Decay - Especially used to stop opponent's combos, hate permanents, and any other 3 cmc permanent that is preventing you from winning.

Defense Grid - Used to prevent your combo pieces from being countered.

Ensnaring Bridge - Great against all creature decks. Can be sacrificed to KCI to allow attack from Emrakul

Ghirapur Aether Grid - This card is a great answer for games that will last long or not allow you to combo. Usually good against decks that use counterspells or Stony Silence. It is also useful against 1/1 tokens and hatebears.

Grafdigger's Cage - Great against Dredge, Reanimator, and Counters Company, can be used against Storm, Elves, and Snapcaster Mage decks

Leyline of Sanctity - Your best sideboard card, in my opinion. It stops Burn, Storm, Ad Naseum, Hand Disruption and even Hurkyl's Recall.

Nature's Claim - Used against Affinity, Tron, Dredge (Leyline of the Void), Burn (Target your own artfacts to gain life), and any deck that has white for Stony Silence and Rest in Peace

Path to Exile - Exile the creatures that Abrupt Decay can't hit and prevent your opponent from having an advantageous board.

Pithing Needle - Mostly used for Karn but can be used for all Planeswalkers.

Never side out Mox Opals or Emrakul. Even without comboing, you can still hard cast Emrakul with Krark-Clan Ironworks.

In some match ups you will be prevented from using KCI, I find it best to use a board lock with Ensnaring Bridge and Leyline of Sanctity. This lock allows you time to gain a win from a Ghirapur AEther Grid
