To play your deck at an official ("DCI-sanctioned") tournament you need a deck registration sheet. Here you can download such a sheet pre-filled with the cards in this deck!
Please note: This is not an official DCI service. So please always make extra sure that the sheet contains all the cards in your deck and fulfils all DCI requirements. If you notice anything wrong, please let us know. DCI is a trademark of of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
I came to build this deck while gathering ideas about Intet, the Dreamer. I thought it was a very cool commander and I was wondering if other dragons from the same cycle were worth building a deck as well.
I checked the cards and my attention got immediately caught by Teneb, the Harvester. A dragon that reanimates stuff, it cannot get better than that: reanimator is my favourite archetype!
I started to wonder how I could have missed such a gem, but then I soon remembered the reason: Karador, Ghost Chieftain. I knew about Teneb, I just forgot about it because: why bother building a reanimator deck with Teneb, if with Karador was ten times stronger? And I hated Karador.
Nonetheless, after some time, I was looking for a casual deck to build in real life. No stax, no infinite combo etc. Not that I dislike all that stuff, but I didn't want to argue with people about what was alowed and what not, when sitting at a table.
Teneb seemed the perfect choice: pure casual, old style, it allowed to play all the cards that I liked... And this is how this deck came to be.
The deck is updated to Modern Horizon. Many card choices are suboptimal (ex: Vindicate instead of Anguished Unmaking, Angel of Despair instead of Ashen Rider) because I like them more than the optimal ones. Moreover, these are cards I actually own in real life.
The reanimation strategy is generally composed by three categories: the monsters, the entombers and the reanimators.
