We are playing an Esper Blink/Super friends deck headed by the creepy girl herself Aminatou.

In true Esper fashion we are going to try and make it difficult for our opponents to run a smooth game plan. We are going to be using early drop planes walkers and a suite of wraths/removal to help control the board and accrue long term value. One thing to keep in mind is that the deck falls sort on the board presence front against opponents creatures, thereby making it hard to keep planes walkers alive. Strategically using wraths and targeted removal is key to long term victory. Without further ado let's get into the list.

Your 3 CMC walkers like Ashiok, Dream Render, Liliana of the Veil, Narset, Parter of Veils, & Teferi, Time Raveler do a great job in disrupting the opponents early game plays. Stopping instant speed plays, tutoring, excessive card draw, and making everyone discard will help you move into the mid/end game. The walkers in this deck do a large amount of the heavy lifting in this form as we are running very little in a counter magic suite.

The 4 CMC walkers start adding advantage and momentum in your favor. Jace, the Mind Sculptor is just a great walker that lends you card filtering, removal, and some deck control. Narset Transcendent allows you to get more value with your spells with its -2 and getting to rebound your instants and sorceries. Jace, Wielder of Mysteries at base is a draw engine, at best a piece to the win con.

All you 5&6 CMC walkers are there for heavy value. Teferi, Hero of Dominaria is just straight value, Tezzeret helps to find value or combo pieces, and Ashiok plays into a small exile theme. Sorin, Grim Nemesis is definitely one of the more entertaining win cons of the deck. Pulling some aspects from the cEDH Teferi, Temporal Archmage deck you can go for The Chain Veil combo to draw your deck or get the emblem off allow yourself to play your walkers at instant speed, which is so much fun.

So now onto the fun part of playing planes walkers, The Ultimate! These are normally very challenging to get to with just normally ticking up your walkers, so there is a small package in the deck to help you to get to them quickly. To start us off Oath of Teferi allows us to activate our planes walkers twice in a round. If that's not good enough we will rely on Flux Channeler and Deepglow Skate to quickly increase the loyalty counters. Deepglow Skate can basically get your walkers into ultimate range the turn it comes out. First it will double the loyalty on your walkers, but if you flicker it with Aminatou then you`ll do that again, pretty much guaranteeing walkers are in ultimate range. Some of the most back breaking are when you get emblems that allow you to take creatures out of your opponent's graveyard, not allowing your opponents to cast non-creature spells, Drawing cards allow you to exile permanents, or just flood the board with many many vampires.

Fun Interaction
One of my favorite interactions I've found with the deck is exile your opponents to death! Use your Ashioks to exile a large amount of your opponent’s library then use Kaya, Orzhov Usurper’s -5 and deal damage to target opponent for every card they have in exile. With Rings of Brighthearth you might be able to take out two people in one shot.
Using Rings of Brighthearth & Basalt Monolith can generate you infinite colourless mana, assuming you have the mana to start the cycle off. With the infinite mana you can use Rings to double all your planeswalker activations.

Win-cons
There is a Thassa’Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries + Demonic Consultation / Tainted Pact win. For those of you that dont know this combo Ill break it down for you.

Thassa line. Cast Thassa’s Oracle and then while holding priority cast either Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. If Consultation/Tainted Pact resolves then you name a card not in your deck and exile your entire Library. Then Thassa’s trigger will happen checking your library, and with your devotion to blue at least at 2 you win the game.

Jace, Wielder of Mysteries is very similar. With Jace on the field you cast Consultation/Tainted Pact again naming a card not in your deck and exiling your entire Library. Then you activate Jace to draw a card. Jace’s static ability act Laboratory Maniac and allow you to win if you draw a card with none in you library

The other Main win con to the deck is the infinitely flickering Oath of Kaya. So let's go through the steps. You will need the following cards Oath of Kaya, Oath of Teferi, Felidar Guardian, and your commander Aminatou, the Fateshifter.

  1. First big step. Get all these cards on the field at the same time.
  2. Oath of Teferi will allow you to activate Aminatou twice which is where this starts off.
  3. Flicker Felidar Guardian targeting Aminatou.
  4. Aminatou now has 2 activations.
  5. Flicker Oath of Kay with the first and Felidar Guardian with the second.
  6. When Felidar Guardian returned target Aminatou again and repeat the process.

Well this is my take on Esper planes walkers. I hope you enjoy this brew.
